Your Primary Care provider may order the sleep testing at one of our locations or refer you to a sleep specialist for a clinic consultation.
To diagnose sleep disorders, you meet with a sleep specialist who will listen to your concerns and help create a plan to meet your needs.
A home sleep test is a diagnostic test that allows individuals to monitor their sleep patterns and detect potential sleep disorders in the comfort of their own home. Home sleep testing may not be suitable for patients with complex sleep disorders or some medical conditions.
On the day of your test, please avoid caffeinated drinks after lunch. Our sleep technologist will meet with you to provide equipment and instructions.
This is a comprehensive sleep study that monitor and records various physiological parameters during sleep. The test will take place overnight in the sleep disorder center. This medical procedure is used to determine the optimal settings for continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, a treatment for sleep apnea.
CPAP is a very effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, which involves wearing a mask connected to a small device similar to an air compressor. The positive pressure allows you to breathe more normally throughout the night by keeping your airway from collapsing.
This study will include the same monitoring of your sleep, respiration and vitals, and you will be fitted with a mask and given further information regarding CPAP treatment.
This is a diagnostic procedure used to assess excessive daytime sleepiness and diagnose sleep disorders, such as narcolepsy. This test takes place in the Sleep Lab and requires a series of five scheduled naps, at two-hour intervals.
Results of the test will help the sleep specialist assess your daytime sleepiness and will require you to be in the sleep center for several hours. Certain medications will need to be held for two weeks prior to this test.
Please discuss specific information with your provider.
This test involves several 40-minute trials where the person sits or lies comfortably in a quiet dark room and tries to stay awake.
Your test will be scored by one of our Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and then read by a board-certified Sleep Specialist.
The result will be sent to your physician or the healthcare professional who referred you to the sleep center. Your provider will then notify you of the result and treatment recommendations. If you would like another healthcare provider to receive a copy, please request it in writing.
For most patients, sleep studies are covered under major medical insurance plans. The percentage of coverage depends on your specific plan.

No. In fact, measurements are more accurate if you stop taking any sleep medications for at least eight (8) days before your sleep study. Please check with your doctor before stopping any of your current medications.

Prior authorization helps to make sure that applicable coverage, payment and coding requirements are met before services are rendered, while ensuring access to and quality of care.
Prior authorization is a process through which a request of affirmation of coverage is submitted for review before the service is rendered to a beneficiary and before a claim is submitted for payment.
The prior authorization program for certain hospital OPD services ensures that Medicare beneficiaries continue to receive medically necessary care while protecting the Medicare Trust Funds from unnecessary increases in the volume of covered services and improper payments.
The prior authorization process does not alter existing medical necessity documentation requirements.
