11th annual Children's Classic raises $180K for Hoops Family Children's Hospital

Golfers hit the links on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Guyan Golf and Country Club for the 11th annual Hoops Family Children’s Hospital’s Children’s Classic Golf Tournament.

The 2022 Children's Classic raised $180,000 for the Hoops Family Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital! The proceeds support programs like Child Life, Music Therapy and other needs, as well as provides funding for the blankets that are given to each child that is admitted to the hospital.

"We are overwhelmed at the support that we have received through this tournament and are thankful for each sponsor, vendor and volunteer that helped make this year such a success," Melanie Akers, HFCH Director, said.

This year's tournament featured two flights, 200 golfers, more than 60 sponsors and a new feature called “The 19th Hole,” which gave participants a celebration-type atmosphere with bubble machines, arts and crafts, music and refreshments.
